Welcome to Extemp.ie, an online information source for pharmacy professionals.

From the Latin, extempore, referring to 'in accordance with the needs of the moment', extemporaneous dispensing is the science of preparation of medicinal preparations from first principles, as a consequence of there being no appropriate commercially available medicinal product for the treatment of a patient.

Compiled using contributions from 25 hospitals in the Republic of Ireland, the information presented on Extemp.ie details most of the currently prepared extemporaneous preparations used in these hospitals.

Users of this website can register online to access the database content. Users should note and read the Privacy Statement. In addition, users of the website agree to the Terms of Use.
